Star Valley felt it: Soda Springs earthquake activity back to life? Earthquake Fincastle Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

STAR VALLEY, WYO –  Star Valley residents felt it again. That uneasy jolt that has become all too familiar since an earthquake swarm began near Soda Springs, Idaho last September.

Social media was abuzz last night just after 8:32pm when the first of three quakes struck in southeastern Idaho. A 4.3-magnitude event was registered just along US 30 southeast of Soda Springs. Two aftershocks of 3.3M, each, followed at 8:35pm and 8:40pm.

The events may have been triggered by a January 23 tremor that registered 7.9M about 171 miles off the coast of Alaska outside Kodiak. Several large earthquakes followed along the coastal fault line of California.
