JACKSON, Wyo. — St. John’s Health recently received numerous awards from prestigious ratings organizations, highlighting quality in the emergency department, orthopedics, obstetrics, mammography and outpatient experience.
“These awards are strong indicators of the quality and performance that our community can depend on when they come to St. John’s,” said St. John’s Health CEO Paul Beaupré, MD. “I am incredibly proud of our staff and physicians who work every day in our challenging current environment to provide excellent care to all our patients.”
The Women’s Choice Award® (WCA), a referral source for healthcare choices based on robust national criteria, named St. John’s Health one of “America’s Best Hospitals” for placing in the top 1% of over 4,500 hospitals nationwide in obstetrics, orthopedics and emergency care. WCA also honored St. John’s with awards for mammography imaging and outpatient experience.
St. John’s Health Emergency Department received top marks from Press Ganey, which granted the department the “Guardian of Excellence Award” for achieving a rank of 95th percentile in patient satisfaction surveys, including data collected during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Patients provided high scores for both “Likelihood to Recommend” and “Overall Rating.” Press Ganey conducts national patient satisfaction surveys and awards top-performing health care organizations.
The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners and International Lactation Consultant Association awarded the Birth Center for excellence in lactation care. The IBCLC award was based on the number of staff members who are board-certified lactation consultants and the availability of a lactation program for breastfeeding families.
St. John’s Health was also awarded an ‘A’ in the Fall 2020 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, a national distinction recognizing achievements in protecting patients from harm and providing safer health care. “This is another indication of the outstanding care that our staff delivers each day,” says Beaupré.
The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The Safety Grade assigns 2,600 hospitals nationwide with an ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, ‘D’ or ‘F’ grade, based on performance in preventing medical errors, injuries, accidents, infections and other harms to patients.
