UPDATE: 1:20 p.m.: The South Entrance Road is now open for the 2022 season.

JACKSON, Wyo. — The South Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, scheduled to open today, May 13, has been delayed.

The park service issued a press release yesterday, warning visitors of the potential for road closures due to winter weather.

The South Entrance to West Thumb is currently closed but Lake Village to West Thumb, West Thumb to Old Faithful and Tower Junction to Tower Fall roads are now open.

Tower Fall to Canyon Junction is set to open May 27.
