Snow King hosts public meeting about master plan amendments

JACKSON, WY — The Snow King Resort District is hosting a public meeting to discuss and answer questions about the proposed Snow King Resort District Master Plan Amendment tonight.

The Snow King Resort District is revising the Master Plan for the property, which is currently zoned as a Planned Resort and includes Snow King Hotel and mountain operations, as well as condos within the Resort District. The proposed project would amend the Snow King Master Plan and impact all properties within the resort district, according to a letter from Snow King Mountain General Manager Ryan Stanley.

Snow King has been in limbo for the past several months since town councilors declined to sign off on a letter to the U.S. Forest Service supporting the proposals on Forest Service land. The resort’s fate now in USFS’s hands, and will in part be determined by the Forest’s Environmental Impact Statement (EIS).

Tonight’s meeting will review additional amendments being proposed to the Resort District Master Plan. Snow King will provide updates, answer questions, and listen to input from the public. Planning Department Staff may also be there to offer advice about applicable LDR provisions.

The meeting is from 5:30-7:30 p.m. tonight at the Snow King Ski Shelter, adjacent to the Snow King Ice Rink. If you can’t make it but want to weigh in, contact Ryan Stanely at
