Snow King announces inaugural Uphill Championships and Locals Ski Day

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – In the absence of hosting the 36th Annual Town Downhill next weekend, fret not, Snow King Mountain Resort announced it will put on the first-ever UPHill Championship on Friday, March 9. The community event will also be part of a Locals Ski Day—an opportunity for free skiing on the mountain for all users.

The all-day event will also include free one-hour demos from the retail shop; 2-for-1 King Tubes and Cowboy Coaster rides; and food specials at King’s Grill including 2-for-1 ice cream, drinks and beer. Snow King Mountain Ski School will also be offering 2-for-1 on their group ski lessons and have roving instructors giving tips on the Magic Carpet and Rafferty Lift.

The highlight of Locals Ski Day will be the 1st Annual Town UPHill Championship at 5:30pm sponsored by Stio. The route will include skin or boot pack up to the top of the Cougar Lift on Exhibition, ski/ride down to top of King Tubes Park, slide down in tube to the Beacon Park, locate a beacon, then cross over to the finish line.

Prizes will be given to category winners. Early registration is Monday, March 5 through Thursday March 8 at the Corporate Headquarters at 575. S. Willow. Registration will be from 4-5pm day of the race at the Summit Chair Lift. Race fees will benefit the Jackson Hole Ski and Snowboard Club’s Nordic Team.
