JACKSON, Wyo. — Start the winter countdown now: the first snow of the season has fallen at high elevations.
Jacksonites awoke to a fresh dusting of snow atop local mountain ranges on Monday, Aug. 26. Sunday night’s rainstorm combined with dipping temperatures led to snow caps on the Teton and Gros Ventre ranges and beyond.

The real winter weather is still a ways off. After Monday’s chance of scattered thunderstorms, expect sunshine and warmer temperatures this week. Stay tuned for an in-depth forecast from Buckrail Meteorologist Alan Smith.
