MORAN, Wyo. — Yellowstone National Park recently shared photos of the new Lewis River Bridge construction site.

The project is part of a larger investment by Yellowstone National Park to replace roads and bridges within the park.

Construction crews are building the new bridge just downstream of the current bridge, which is about 10 miles north of the South Entrance. Once the new bridge is completed, the road will be realigned and the old one will be removed. Additional parking is also being included in the project. The project is estimated to cost $31 million and is funded through the Great American Outdoors Act Legacy Restoration Fund. It is slated for completion by fall 2024.

Yellowstone closes to vehicle traffic Nov. 1.
