GRAND TETON NATIONAL PARK — On Wednesday, March 5, Grand Teton National Park (GTNP) shared a number of bird photos to Facebook in honor of the huge diversity of avian species that call the Park home.

According to GTNP, almost 300 species of birds can be found in the area.

“From bald eagles soaring above the Snake River to songbirds in alpine meadows, our feathered friends play a vital role in the park’s ecosystem,” GTNP writes on its Facebook.

GTNP’s website confirms that some of the largest and smallest North American birds inhabit or pass through the Park and parkway.

GTNP also reminds all visitors and birdwatchers to view birds from a distance, especially when they’re nesting, preferably with binoculars.

“As with all wildlife, birds are not to be harassed or disturbed,” GTNP’s website states.
