JACKSON, Wyo. — Caution! Moose crossing ahead!
Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer spotted a bull moose out for a stroll near Gros Ventre Junction this week.

Moose are gearing up for winter, their favorite season. They’ve evolved to thrive in deep snow, with adaptations including long legs for efficient movement and a highly developed sense of smell to find shrubs hidden under the snow.

With the recent time change, animals are more likely to be hanging around busy roads at inopportune times for drivers, so please remember to give wildlife a brake. In the past 10 years, more than 160 moose have been killed in area wildlife-vehicle collisions.
