JACKSON, Wyo. — Jacksonites are no stranger to the ebbs and flows of the seasons. Each year locals can be heard saying, “We need more snow,” “It’s not cold enough,” or asking, “Will the resorts have to delay opening?”

This year is no different. Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer snapped some images of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (JHMR) and Snow King Mountain Resort slopes this week.

As of Nov. 19, JHMR is reporting 5 inches of snow at the summit and is still planning to open on Thanksgiving for the season, conditions permitting. The 10-day forecast looks promising with colder temperatures and snow incoming in early December.

Snow King Mountain Resort is set to open Dec. 5, conditions permitting. Despite the unseasonably warm and wet weather, winter is certainly on the horizon.
