JACKSON, Wyo. — Happy Veterans Day!
Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer stopped by Town Square on Tuesday morning to document the annual Veterans Day ceremony hosted by the American Legion Post 43.

A considerable crowd gathered for the event in George Washington Memorial Park.

Veterans Day honors all who have served in the U.S. military. It is celebrated on Nov. 11, the day World War I ended in 1918. President Woodrow Wilson celebrated Nov. 11, 1919 as Armistice Day. Congress recognized it as an official federal holiday in 1938, and in 1954 the name was changed to Veterans Day to honor veterans of all U.S. conflicts.

Air Force Veteran Ed Liebzeit delivered remarks to onlookers, including some of Jackson’s youngest residents.

The event also featured music from the Jackson Hole Community Band and the American Legion Post 43 Honor Guard.

Some of the vets even spotted Sulzer’s camera and flashed a smile.

Until next year!
