UPDATE: According to WYDOT the Village Road opened back up as of 11:09 a.m. Tuesday morning, Feb. 23. WYDOT says that the road is still slick with snowfall.

JACKSON, Wyo. — Drive safe out there folks. Not only has the county issued an unnecessary travel advisory, but several roads and highways around Jackson are also closed including the Village Road (WY 390).

A START Bus saw the worst of the winter conditions this morning when it plowed into a stop sign close to Snow King Resort, at the eastern end of Snow King Avenue.

Fortunately, a stop sign can be replaced, but the START Bus serves as a reminder to drive slow in wintery conditions. Remember to never accelerate or stop quickly on icy and snowy roadways. Not everyone has snow tires, so be sure to give cars plenty of space and be patient out there.
