JACKSON, Wyo. — Winter sleigh rides at the Elk Refuge are now open for the winter season. Running from Dec. 13 through April 2, 2022, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., depending on conditions. The roughly one-hour ride takes visitors through the elk refuge to view the wintering elk population up-close.

While snowfall has been below average this winter, the elk population historically begins arriving in November and December, remaining consistent through January and February.

Sleigh rides are operated by private contractor, Double H Bar, Inc. Purchase tickets in the parking lot of the Jackson Hole & Greater Yellowstone Visitor Center at 532 N. Cache St. in Jackson from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Look for the white trailer.
