JACKSON, Wyo. — The new building at Jackson Hole Airport (JHA), which includes administrative offices and the private aviation terminal, is complete and open for business.

JHA Chief Communications Officer Jeremy Barnum told Buckrail that the facility has been open and operational since Jan. 7. Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer stopped by to take some pics of the completed facility.

Buckrail previously reported that the building was planned to be 21,000 square feet with two stories and a full basement. The fixed-base operator (FBO) building was designed with a focus on sustainability, including energy-reducing HVAC and lighting systems.
“The building is located on the site of a previous general aviation hangar that has been removed, and replaces aging FBO infrastructure from which staff support aviation services across the airport,” Barnum wrote in an email.

According to the National Park Service, the Jackson Hole Airport is the only commercial airport in the country that sits within a national park. The airport began commercial operations in 1946, prior to the expansion of Grand Teton National Park, and is now the busiest airport in Wyoming.
