WILSON, Wyo. — Welcome back, osprey!
The expert divers are back in the valley for nesting season. Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer encountered an osprey standing sentinel over its nest along WY22.

Keep an eye out for these raptors in the large nests that line WY22 and WY390. Note that this particular nest incorporates twigs and branches of varying sizes, as well as some inorganic material, like the bright-orange netting. Various wildlife agencies estimate that osprey nests can reach 3 to 6 feet in diameter.
Those who don’t regularly pass the local osprey nest hotspots can enjoy some virtual birding and watch this osprey nest webcam located in Salmon, Idaho.
