JACKSON, Wyo. — The ice rink at the Teton County Fairgrounds is up and running for the season as of Dec. 6 and community members are taking full advantage.

Buckrail’s photographer Nick Sulzer snapped a few pictures of a night game recently.

Last year, the ice rink opened for the first broomball game on Dec. 28 but the ice still wasn’t ready for skates. This winter temperatures have remained low but the heavy snowfall proved to be challenging for Teton County/Jackson Parks and Rec staff:

Owen Bircher opened on Thursday, Dec. 8 while Powderhorn Park rink is still in the works according to updates from the TCJPRrinks Twitter account.

The Town of Jackson recently shared the below image of the Rodeo Grounds rink from many seasons past.

Rink hours at the Rodeo Grounds are 12-6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays because the rink is reserved for the broomball league from 6-10 p.m. on those days. Every other day the rink is open from 12-9 p.m.
