JACKSON, Wyo. — Today, construction continues to unfold at Snow King Mountain with the setting of its new gondola base where the Summit Lift once stood.

Eventually, this base will service an eight-passenger Leitner-Pomma Gondola that will run from the base to the summit of the mountain. Snow King Mountain has undergone a number of major enhancement projects during the summer of 2021.

In early July, the gondola’s cabins were shipped in from France, while all of the other parts were made in Grand Junction Colorado. The setting of Snow King’s new gondola is just the beginning of a multiple-phase construction project that will pan out over several years.


After five years of public review and an extensive environmental analysis conducted on the greater Snow King area, Snow King Mountain Resort was given permission to conduct a number of major enhancement projects. Click here to learn more about these projects.
