JACKSON, Wyo. — November is prime moose-spotting season here in the valley.

Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer came across a gathering of moose at golden hour, snapping some arresting photos of the animals in grand surroundings.

Moose are out of their rut season, so bulls can congregate without getting into too many fights.

Dawn and dusk are typically the best times of day to spot a moose.

According to the National Park Service, viewers should allow at least 25 yards between themselves and a moose. Use binoculars, spotting scopes or long lenses to get a closer look or snap a photo.

As the winter sun sets earlier and earlier, animals are more likely to be hanging around busy roads at inopportune times for drivers, so please remember to give wildlife a brake. In the past 10 years, more than 160 moose have been killed in area wildlife-vehicle collisions.
