JACKSON, Wyo. — Community members, friends and family attended Town Council’s regular meeting on Monday, Jan. 6, to congratulate the outgoing Mayor and Town Councilors for all their years of service.

Mayor Arne Jorgensen read a separate resolution of appreciation for former Mayor Hailey Morton Levinson, Councilwoman Jessica Sell Chambers and Councilor Jim Rooks, copies of which were framed for each of them to take home.

Morton Levinson served the Town for 12 years, first as a Councilwoman and then as Mayor. Jorgensen read that Morton Levinson was a champion for affordable workforce housing, having contributed to the existence of permanently deed restricted units at the Redmond and Hall project, 440 West Kelly project, King Street Condos, Daisy Bush, the Grove and Flat Creek Apartments.

Both Sell Chambers and Rooks served the Town Council for four years, from January 2021 to January 2025.

According to Town, a copy of all three resolutions will be preserved in the official records of the Town of Jackson.

The new Councilors, Devon Viehman and Kevin Regan, along with Mayor Jorgensen, were sworn-in earlier that same day. The Town has invited Jackson residents to apply for the open Town Council seat, which became available after Jorgensen took the oath of office as Mayor.
