JACKSON, Wyo. — Time to bust out those snow shovels.
A string of snowstorms over the last week has dumped inches upon inches of new snow in Jackson Hole. Buckrail Meteorologist Alan Smith notes that as of Tuesday, Dec. 17, Jackson has received 13 inches of new snow since Saturday, and the top of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort has gotten 34 inches of new snow. Ski enthusiasts have been particularly jazzed about the recent weather. Backcountry recreationists are advised to be aware of increased avalanche danger under newly snowy conditions.
According to the National Weather Service’s Riverton, WY, office (NWS), snow will continue to fall intermittently through Wednesday night, Dec. 18.
Be sure to leave those windshield wipers up.
