UNITED STATES — Today marks the second anniversary of the Great American Outdoors Act (GAOA) signed on Aug. 4, 2020 by President Donald Trump.

The legislation established the National Parks and Public Lands Legacy Restoration Fund and guaranteed permanent funding for the existing Land and Water Conservation Fund.

“The funding allows for crucial investments in our nation’s most meaningful landscapes. Projects funded through GAOA address key climate and environmental threats, upgrade trails, roads and buildings, support local economies and leverage partnerships,” said the National Park Service today.

“The historical, natural, recreational and educational features in national parks can be better protected and preserved for the use and enjoyment of current and future visitors.”

To commemorate the Great American Outdoors Act, all National Park Service entrance fees will be waived today.

Today, we celebrate the GAOA with some of our favorite shots of Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks.

She's a lover of alliteration, easy-to-follow recipes and board games when everyone knows the rules. Her favorite aspect about living in the Tetons is the collective admiration that Wyomingites share for the land and the life that it sustains.
