JACKSON, Wyo. — The lower angle of the sun during the winter months lends itself to beautiful pink mountains at sunrise and sunset. Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer snapped some photos of the phenomenon, coined alpenglow, on Monday evening.

The clouds gave the peak the semblance of wearing a hat, adding to the drama of the sunset.

Before the signature pink hue of the sunset, the Grand Teton was illuminated brightly against the darker contrast of a shady butte.
