JACKSON, Wyo. — Spring can be slow to begin in Jackson Hole, but signs of the transitioning seasons are starting to emerge in the valley.
Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer spotted a herd of elk heading out of the valley this week, seeking higher ground as snow continues to melt.
Sulzer also glimpsed a moose hanging out by the Gros Ventre River. Animals are on the move all over the valley as their seasonal migration instincts kick in.
Drivers should be extra cautious and aware of migrating animals on roadways, particularly at night.
In Grand Teton National Park, signs of the slow emergence of spring are visible, with melting ice and snow adorning familiar vistas like Oxbow Bend and Jackson Lake.
