JACKSON, Wyo. — Although wild visitors often make their way to homes around Jackson Hole, it’s still not every day a moose walks right by your front door. This moose caught on a door cam on Dec. 23 by residents in Rafter J showed up just in time for the holidays.

Moose are some of the most prolific animals around Jackson Hole in the winter. Often eating bark and bitterbrush during the cold months, their dark coat helps them stand out with a snowy background on bright winter days.
