JACKSON, Wyo. — The Science Guy himself was in Jackson to celebrate the grand opening of the Snow King Observatory & Planetarium on Saturday, June 1, and Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer was there to document the occasion.

Bill Nye was sporting a solar system-themed bowtie for the festivities, delivering remarks about clean energy in the state and more.

Tickets for the sold-out event started at $50 each. Attendees also got an early look at the new facility before it opened to the public on Monday, June 3.

Visitors could look through the one-meter observatory-class telescope and smaller telescopes on the observation deck.

The planetarium was open for exploration.
Attendees could also check out the astronomy exhibits.
