JACKSON, Wyo. — A beautiful spring weekend provided a photogenic backdrop for Wyomingites searching for shed antlers.
Buckrail photographer Nick Sulzer was out bright and early on Friday, May 1, to witness the collectors at work.

Baylor Brown of Dubois was happy to show off the giant set he had found while scouting with his father.
From May 1 through May 7, only residents of Wyoming are allowed to collect shed antlers. Collection opens to everyone else on May 8.

Some hunters travel by horseback to cover more ground.

According to the Jackson Police Department, applications for the 2027 motorcade are expected to open and close about two weeks earlier than they did this year, in an effort to allow folks a bit more time to make travel arrangements ahead of May 1.
