JACKSON, Wyo. — Whether it be a love for the stunning landscape, an enthusiasm for the endless outdoor recreation or a fascination for wildlife, there are countless reasons to appreciate and admire all that Wyoming has to offer.
Today, March 7 is 307 Day, otherwise known as Wyoming Pride Day. It is a day observed every year to honor this great state and its people. On 307 Day residents express their pride for Wyoming and the people who live here.
In 1947, 307 was one of the original 86 area codes established by the Bell Telephone Company, and for the last 74 years, it has remained the area code in Wyoming. Since then, Wyomingites have used “307” as a phrase synonymous with the state’s name and all that it represents.
To participate in the 307 Day celebration, Wyoming residents are encouraged to post photos of Wyoming across social media using the hashtag #WY307.
