JACKSON, Wyo. — On May 18, smoke from multiple wildfires in Canada started rolling into Jackson Hole.

The wildfire smoke is currently originating mainly from Alberta, Canada, where NBC News has reported the fires started due to unusually high temperatures.

According to the Bridger-Teton National Forest, the smoke in town has nothing to do with local wildfires or prescribed burns. The air quality around Jackson Hole is currently rated as ‘moderate.’

The wildfire crisis is continuing in western states, where the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently invested $63 million into wildland fire safety.
