The U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed Wyoming native Rob Wallace as assistant secretary for Fish, Wildlife, and Parks within the Interior Department.

Wyoming Senator Mike Enzi issued a statement congratulating Wallace on his confirmation and applauding the decision. “I’ve known Rob for many years and know that he is extremely qualified for this important position,” Enzi said. “His experience as a seasonal ranger in Grand Teton National Park, prior service as assistant director of the National Park Service and extensive record of leadership will lend well to this new position. He has a passion for our nation’s public lands and a deep understanding of issues facing Fish and Wildlife Service and the National Park Service. I am confident he will serve the department and our country well.”

Senator John Barrasso also applauded the decision.  “I have known Rob for over 35 years. Without question, Rob is the right person for the job.” Barrasso said at Wallace’s confirmation before diving into Wallace’s extensive resume in wildlife conservation and management. “Rob’s experience and leadership in Wyoming and our Nation’s capital are ideally suited for this position.”
