UPDATE: On Friday, Feb. 7, the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) announced that two individuals were formally charged in Sublette County Circuit Court after 23-year-old Dakota Farley of Big Piney was found dead: Rowan Littauer, 19, of Big Piney, has been charged with murder in the first degree and mutilation of a dead human body, and Orion Schlesinger, 18, of Big Piney, has been charged with conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree and felony theft in connection with Farley’s death.
BIG PINEY, Wyo. — On Wednesday, Feb. 5, the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) responded to a report of a possible deceased person in Big Piney. Two people are now in custody, with charges expected by tomorrow.
According to a SCSO press release, the call came in at approximately 12:20 p.m. regarding a residence on South Mickelson Street. Deputies entered the home and found an adult male on the ground with “significant injuries.” SCSO confirms he was pronounced deceased at the scene; his identity is being withheld pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Detention Lieutenant Travis Bingham tells Buckrail that SCSO is anticipating charges by the end of this week.
“It’s an active investigation with lots of moving parts,” Bingham says.
