Sales tax hike begins October 1 Handwriting Writing Buckrail - Jackson Hole, news

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Time is running out to enjoy the low 5% sales tax rate in Teton County. Sales tax will jump to 6% beginning October 1.

The sales tax rate changed from 6% to 5% in April of 2017 after all SPET funds for the mitigation of the Budge landslide—approved in 2016—had been collected. Following approval of various SPET projects in May of 2017, a schedule was set to resume the local 1% collection this October.

Once collection begins on October 1, the additional 1% sales tax will remain in place until funding is collected for all of the voter-approved SPET projects, or approximately three years.
