JACKSON, Wyo. – Mentoring means different things at different times, and, in these times, it might take shape as a welfare check.

The Jackson Hole FRC Team #3374 got the call for help from their FTC robotics team counterparts called Electric Feather on the Wind River Reservation. Over the weekend, coaches and members of the RoboBroncs team mobilized to deliver a second pick-up truck load of masks and toilet paper goods to the Wyoming Indian High School.

“They are really in need of our support in this turbulent time. Last winter we had fun with a coat and mitten drive, but this time it’s even more important to help during the pandemic,” said coach Gary Duquette.

Scott Krassin from Wyoming Indian High School is going to give the items to parents and students in need after the materials are quarantined.

“The elders and councils from the reservation have a high priority need for food and water, but the amount they need is staggering. Small food drives and deliveries will not make a dent, so we are going to keep our attention on what we can help with—masks, toilet paper, any paper goods or disinfectant type products.”

Robotics Team 3D printers also came to life these past weeks. The RoboBroncs made over 20 plastic parts for the face shields. They are going to St. John’s Health to help with PPE shortages.
