JACKSON, Wyo. — Two streets in downtown Jackson that provide access to the Rusty Parrot Lodge were closed as of Friday, Aug. 9.
W Gill Ave. is closed west of Millward St., and N Jackson St. is closed north of W Deloney Ave. Parking is prohibited along those two sides of Miller Park. The closures are scheduled through 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 10, according to area signage.
A representative from the Jackson Police Department directed Buckrail to address questions about the street closures to an email address associated with Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. Trump is expected to appear at a private fundraiser in the greater Jackson area on Saturday, Aug. 10.
Employees at the Rusty Parrot hedged when asked about the closures, saying they could not provide any information about their cause. An employee at the Parkway Inn, which sits on the corner of Deloney and Jackson, was mystified about the closures. She told Buckrail she had not been told anything about them.
Street closures are typically announced by the Town of Jackson days or weeks in advance, barring emergency situations.
