JACKSON, Wyo. — After 20 years as a community hub in Jackson, Rendezvous Bistro has announced they will be closing at the end of winter 2021.

“Restaurants, like everything, have their own lifespans and we wanted the story of Rendezvous Bistro to conclude in a similar fashion to which it opened, to go out on top and allow our guests the opportunity to celebrate the final season with us,” said Kendra Alessandro, Director of Communications for Fine Dining Restaurant Group.

Rendezvous Bistro opened its doors to the Jackson Hole dining community in 2001. The first of many restaurants from local restauranteurs Gavin Fine and Roger Freedman, the “Bistro” as its nicknamed, has been a home-away-from-home for guests for the last 20 years. Over the years, Fine’s restaurant empire has expanded into multiple locations, a gas-station-turned-bodega, an artisan ice cream brand, and more. The Bistro has also been a starting point for many Jackson Hole professionals to cut their teeth serving, bussing tables, bartending, and cooking.

“After two decades, with thousands of fond memories and an eager outlook on the future, the time has come to lower the curtain on the restaurant that began what is now Fine Dining Restaurant Group,” Fine Dining said in a letter to the community. “This will be our final season, as we will be closing at the end of winter 2021. While the closing of Rendezvous Bistro certainly is the end of an era, we’re incredibly grateful for the past 20 years and excited about the future.”

According to Fine Dining, the Bistro’s closure was planned, and not a result of the current pandemic.

“Just days away from Thanksgiving, it seems like the most appropriate time to express our gratitude to our dedicated Rendezvous Bistro guests,” Alessandro said. “The outpouring of love and support we’ve received since announcing our final season has been nothing short of incredible. We are so appreciative of the community’s support over the last 20 years and we look forward to sharing what’s next. We don’t look at this as an ending, we look at it as a new beginning.”

With the closure, Fine Dining told Buckrail that they plan on opening a new restaurant in the new Cloudveil Hotel on Center Street in downtown Jackson sometime in spring/summer 2021. They are planning to retain all of the Rendezvous Bistro employees through the end of the winter and, after its closure, those employees will have future opportunities available to them with Fine Dining.
