JACKSON, Wyo. — Dick’s Ditch is a thrilling two-day banked slalom race from Feb. 28 to March 2 that winds through a mix of man-made and natural terrain, starting below Nez Perce and flowing through the iconic upper Dick’s Ditch to the finish.

This year’s course stays true to the event’s unique character while embracing the essence of classic banked slalom culture. Friday is an optional inspection day, followed by Saturday’s qualifying run, where the top 70% in each category advance to Sunday’s finals. Pro divisions compete for cash prizes: $1,000 for first place, $500 for second and $250 for third.

Schedule

Friday, Feb. 28: Bib Pick-up and Course Inspection

  • 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Bib-Pick Up/Registration at Hole in the Wall Snowboard Shop.
  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Course will be open to inspection and run in sections, conditions permitting (traverses that cross the course will remain open). Competitors must check in with Race Crew at the start gate and provide inspection ticket on Friday before they will be allowed on course. The start will be staffed and there will be staff at the top and bottom of each section. Competitors must have helmets while sectioning the course on Friday. Friday is the only day when racers can section the course; Saturday and Sunday is by slow inspection only.

Saturday, March 1: Dick’s Ditch Qualifier

  • 8:30 a.m.: Mandatory competitor meeting will be held at the Events Tent. The start order will be distributed at this meeting.
  • 9:15 to 10 a.m.: Course inspection will be open for side slipping only.
  • 10 a.m.: Race Starts. Snowboarding division will start first with skier division following.
  • 2 p.m.: Estimate for race completion. Results and a list of advancing racers will be available at the Events Tent after the race or found on Live-Timing.com.

Sunday, March 2: Dick’s Ditch Finals

  • 9:15 to 10 a.m.: Course inspection will be open for side slipping only.
  • 10 a.m.: Finals Day Race Start. Snowboarding division will start first with skier division following. Pro Divisions only will be allowed two runs, with the best of two counting as the final result. All other divisions will only get one run.
  • 2 p.m.: Estimate for race completion.
  • 3 p.m.: Awards in Events Tent.
