JACKSON, Wyo. — The Rec Center will stick a cautious toe in the water next week as it unveiled plans to open the pool.

With the Teton County Board of County Commissioners voting to end public access restrictions at County Buildings next week, the Teton County/ Jackson Parks and Recreation will open for lap swimming only starting Tuesday, May 26. The Rec Center will operate under reduced hours from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.

According to public health guidelines, social distancing precautions require only one swimmer permitted per lane. As a result of limited space, swimmers are required to reserve their lane and time slot ahead of time either online or by telephone. All interested swimmers must have an active account in order to register.

Registration online will begin Friday May 22 at 8 a.m.  To ensure the safety of guests and staff, please adhere to the following guidelines and restrictions:

  • Steam room, sauna, hot tub, and therapy pool will remain closed
  • Reservation system shall limit 8 swimmers per 2-hour block.  Each block is 90 minutes swimming with a 30-minute gap between reservation blocks to allow cleaning. No walk ins will be allowed at this time.
  • Locker rooms will remain closed, and patrons are encouraged to arrive with proper attire on, or under other their clothing.  Three changing tents will be provided on the pool deck.
  • Restrooms will be provided for restroom purposes only.

As health restriction ease, Parks & Rec hopes to provide the public more programs, swim times, and open gym opportunities.
