JACKSON, Wyo. — Teton Tutors is introducing Radical Minds Academy, a co-working and homeschool space designed to support students on-site while offering families flexibility in their educational choices.
Radical Minds Academy aims to meet the increasing demand for flexible education options by offering various support services. Co-founder Garrett Austen said, “Traditional school is outdated. We’re preparing students for the future, where work can happen from anywhere and on your own schedule. By giving students flexibility, we’re empowering them to learn how to manage their schedule, balance sports with academics and become self-reliant.”
Options include using RadAcad as a dedicated workspace for online academies, receiving guidance from experienced coaches to navigate online school, creating a customized homeschool curriculum or combining these approaches. On-site learning coaches will be available to offer personalized support, helping students stay focused and on track with their studies.
“This is how I would have liked to be educated,” said co-founder Franny Saron. “No distractions from other students, working at my own pace and in a supportive environment.”
They’re also building a community. Radical Minds provides daily PE, monthly group field trips, opportunities for community volunteering and an optional yearly place-based personal project.
“One thing that our homeschool or online school parents kept asking for was PE and a community,” said Austen. By incorporating daily PE, Austen and Saron hope to build a community and fill in the gaps that online school or homeschooling can miss.
A monthly membership includes access to flexible hours, allowing students to manage their schedules and use their personalized desks as needed, on-site learning coaches to provide daily guidance, weekly one-on-one coaching sessions to help build essential organizational and time-management skills, daily group PE and monthly field trips and guest speakers. By offering these comprehensive resources, Radical Minds Academy creates an engaging, supportive environment for students who like to learn outside the box.
