Quad chair lift at JHMR breaks down, all skiers evacuated safely

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – A mechanical issue caused the evacuation of the quad chair lift at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort this afternoon.

At approximately 2:12pm Après Vous High Speed Quad became inoperable due to a mechanical issue.  Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Lift Maintenance staff quickly diagnosed the problem as a gearbox issue, and asked Ski Patrol to initiate preparations for an evacuation.

At 2:39 pm Ski Patrol started the rope evacuation of the guests on the lift.  The evacuation process lasted until approximately 4:03 pm, at which time all 40 guests were safely off the lift.
