WYOMING — The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission will close the public comment period to help determine the designation of the Sublette antelope migration corridor on Friday, May 2, at 5 p.m.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department (WGFD) held a public meeting in Jackson in early April to discuss the identified migration corridor as well as the draft biological risk and opportunity assessment.

Also known as the “Path of the Pronghorn,” the corridor is a crucial pathway for pronghorn in west-central Wyoming, connecting the pronghorn’s winter range from the Red Desert to the Green River Valley and all the way to their summer range in Grand Teton National Park, according to the WGFD.

The steps toward designating a migration corridor are outlined in the Wyoming Mule Deer and Antelope Migration Corridor Protection Executive Order. The Commission voted to identify the corridor and move forward in the designation process at its March 2024 meeting in Pinedale, as previously reported by Buckrail.

The Game and Fish Commission will vote on whether to recommend to Governor Gordon that the identified corridor be formally designated at their July meeting in Evanston. Written comments will be presented to the Wyoming Game and Fish Commission before the July meeting. Comments can be submitted through the online form or by mail to the Pinedale Regional Game and Fish Office, PO Box 850, Pinedale, Wyoming, 82941.
