JACKSON, Wyo. — In March of 2020, restaurants suddenly began closing indefinitely, due to the uncertainty of the new COVID-19 virus that was spreading worldwide. Chef Clark Myers and Chef Chas Baki found themselves in a unique situation. Rather than waiting for things to “go back to normal” the Chefs decided to leave their head chef positions and start their own business, C&C Chefs. Their goal is to bring fantastic culinary experiences to clients in the safety and comfort of their own homes.
Ever evolving, C&C Chefs has grown into the business known today as Provisions. In May of 2020, Myers and Baki joined forces with branding expert Mekki Jaidi, rebranding the company as Provisions, in a partnership with Outpost. “Outpost hosts nearly 75,000 guests annually. For us to have the ability to reach out to these folks prior to their stay in Jackson Hole to offer private chef services or have tailored meals waiting for them upon arrival, allows us to take concierge services to the next level. It’s a win-win for both Outpost and Provisions.” said Jaidi.
With the restaurant landscape and dining experience shifting due to the pandemic, Provisions has created a solution for the health concerns surrounding traditional dining experiences. “We bring the food to the people,” said Jaidi, with Baki adding, “Customer consideration is our top priority.”
Clients can enjoy a meal in the comfort and safety of their own homes, without the anxiety that might come with dining out. “In our view, this is the ultimate attainable luxury, being able to have your friends and family over to your home for the highest level of service and food, very similar to a chef’s tasting in a high-end restaurant but in the comfort of their own home,” said Myers.
The partnership with Outpost also provides a simple experience for customers. “Customers can book rentals, residential cleans, or private chef experiences all on one intuitive platform,” said Jaidi. Provisions recently launched a new sleek and easy to navigate website. Customers can choose between catering, onsite cooking, or home delivery.
Whether choosing catering, delivered meals, or a private chef experience, Myers and Baki customize the experience from start to finish, “The customer can expect our full attention from the moment they call us. We collaborate with our clients with the menu and setting. We have the resources to consult on wine choices and have an array of local purveyors of food that we like to endorse,” said Myers.
The team at Provisions is always working to fill the culinary voids in the community. “We’ve only just scratched the surface in our creative offerings,” said Jaidi. Chef Clark Myers enjoys experimenting with unique flavor combinations to surprise folks with creative dishes. Chef Chas Baki has an incredible background in baked goods and is the mastermind behind Provision’s secret donut recipe.
“Late last summer, we realized there was a real need for gourmet donuts in our community,” said Jaidi. In October Provisions partnered with Brewhouse Coffee to sell donuts alongside their coffee and breakfast sandwiches.
Finding success at Brewhouse Coffee, the team began selling their donuts at the General Store in Teton Village. Customers can order a dozen donuts directly from the website and they will be ready for pick-up at Brewhouse Coffee — no need to be anxious about them selling out!
Beyond bringing customers a unique culinary experience, the team at Provisions is also focused on creating menus with seasonally and locally sourced ingredients. “We firmly believe that we as chefs are integrated into the fabric of the community. This is demonstrated by utilizing locally sourced ingredients with the intention of supporting our hard-working farmers, craftsmen, and artisans. It is very important to us to contribute to the uniqueness of the community. Many people are unaware of the plethora of local products and it is exciting for us to be a platform for these fellow artisans.” said Myers and Baki.
