JACKSON, Wyo. — The Bridger-Teton National Forest (BTNF) has announced plans for prescribed fire operations on up to 300 acres near Munger Mountain on Thursday, April 10, as conditions allow.

According to BTNF, burns of primarily grass and sagebrush are scheduled to begin around 2 p.m. and are expected to be completed before the day’s out, dependent on weather.

“We use prescribed fires to help reduce overgrown vegetation to help protect local communities, infrastructure and natural resources from wildfires,” BTNF stated in a March press release.

No closures are anticipated at this time, although BTNF notes that fire personnel could pause traffic intermittently for public safety. Expect to see warning signs along roads in the burn areas.
