By applying these four key guidelines, individuals can make safer choices and reduce the risk of harm.
0 Drinks Before the Age of 21
Consumption of alcohol before reaching the age of 21 is illegal and poses significant health risks. Encourage young individuals to prioritize their health and well-being by delaying use of alcohol until they reach the legal drinking age.
0 Drinks for Drivers
Even small amounts of alcohol can impair judgment, coordination and reaction time which significantly increases the risk of accidents. Always designate a sober driver or utilize alternative transportation methods if alcohol is in the plan.
1 Drink, with Water in Between, Per Hour
Moderate alcohol consumption is key to minimizing health risks and promoting responsible drinking habits. Drinking one alcoholic beverage per hour allows the body enough time to metabolize the alcohol. Hydrating with water in between alcoholic beverages helps to prevent dehydration and reduces the likelihood of overconsumption.
No More Than 3 Drinks.
Setting limits on the number of drinks consumed per night or per occasion helps individuals maintain control over their alcohol intake, and reduce the risk of harm.
