JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County Library announced Thursday that it has two major author events on its 2024 calendar, including a visit from U.S. Poet Laureate Ada Limón.
Limón will speak at the library’s Page to the Podium event on Tuesday, May 21, at the Center. The free event will be ticketed, with tickets becoming available here on Monday, April 22. Limón is the author of six books of poetry. As the Poet Laureate, her signature project is a poetry anthology about how poetry can help readers connect with nature.
The second event on the slate will be the inaugural Teen Page to the Podium, featuring Young Adult author Jason Reynolds, at the Center on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Tickets to this free event will become available closer to the event. Reynolds served as the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature from 2020 to 2022 and received numerous honors for his books for young people.
“Ada and Jason are both hugely respected within literary circles for their ability to connect our vulnerabilities to our beauty within real and imagined worlds,” Library Adult Program Coordinator Leah Shlachter said in the event announcement. “We chose to bring them to speak to our community because of that, and also because they’re known to offer inviting gateways to readers who are not familiar with poetry and Young Adult literature.”
