JACKSON HOLE, WYO – Teton County Commissioners are expected to approve a contract tomorrow with R&D Sweeping and Asphalt Maintenance out of Rock Springs for the Jackson Hole Community Pathways 2018 Pathways Sealcoating and Asphalt Repair Project.
The county has established a maintenance program to seal pathways, and to perform spot repairs and asphalt patching in order to protect the long-term integrity of the pathway surface. Pathways are typically sealed every 4-6 years (some sections are more susceptible to wear and require sealing more frequently while some are able to go longer between sealing). This project is consistent with the maintenance program.
Paths to be sealed this year include Path 22 between Stilson and the Y intersection, the Millennium Path (Wilson to Trail Creek), and Spring Gulch Pathway (Golf and Tennis). The total length is 6.7 miles. Also included is an estimated 244 sq. yds. of asphalt patching and re-striping the pathway markings and crosswalks.
Teton County received one bid on Thursday, June 28 from R&D Sweeping and Asphalt Maintenance, LC. for $106,663.15. R&D has successfully completed multiple pathways sealcoating projects for Teton County.
Teton County has budgeted funds for the sealcoating project in the FY19 budget. A portion of the project (the Path 22 segment) will be paid out of TOJ/TV Pathway funds. The remainder will be paid out of the Pathway Sealcoating account. The total bill is expected to come in at or under $106,663.15.
Public Works staff Lloyd Wiser and Brian Schilling will be involved in project management during August. The project is expected to take up to two weeks. Staff will perform construction oversight and administration, which will require approximately 20 hours total time.
