VICTOR, Idaho — Funk, soul, powerful horns and incredible vocals—with a contemporary edge—propels Paige and The People’s Band to the forefront of today’s music scene.
We’re talking about one of Montana’s hottest acts and one you won’t want to miss. Paige and The People’s Band (PPB) have made a name for themselves as one of Montana’s premiere musical acts.
The Band, led by Paige Rasmussen, was formed in 2016, however members of the PPB have been charming, captivating and blowing the collective minds of audiences throughout the United States and Europe for many years.
Sharing the stage with such musical legends as The Doobie Brothers, Lyle Lovett, Brandie Carlile and Mike McCready, Paige and The People’s Band are no strangers to the big show. A mix of rock, soul, funk and fusion, they keep the crowd bumping and the energy climbing.
The band’s namesake, Paige Rasmussen, told Explore Big Sky that their sound pulls from everything. “We kind of pull from everywhere; we’re sort of the sum of everything we listen to,” Paige said to writer Michael Somerby. “We’re like a soul, funk and rock-fusion band, but we know that if we play music we love that [the crowd] will love it, too. We’re not going to stick to any single genre, ’cause people aren’t one thing either. We even have some folk in there and some stuff that borders on country.”
A nine-piece horn powered and vocally charged group, Paige and The People’s Band puts a modern twist on their tunes with a ’70s throwback vibe. Montana PBS described this powerhouse band as reminiscent of groups like Cold Blood or Sharon Jones & The Dap Kings, but with a contemporary feel.
Paige and The People’s Band was voted Bozeman’s Choice for three years in a row and premiered season thirteen of 11th and Grant With Eric Funk on PBS. The episode later went on to win an Emmy Award for best audio. Paige and The People’s Band deliver a performance to remember. Mark your calendars, Teton Valley.
The night starts with opener The Rose McCann Band. The core of the Rose McCann Band is a bluesy, jazz-rock project, started by Ben Collins and Emma Downie. RMB began in the Green Mountains of Vermont. RMB’s music transcends genres and explores a multitude of styles to bring an honest and endearing sound.
