Founded in 2016 by owner-operator Samantha Danahy (owner of sister home organization and relocation business, In Place), Catch & Release was first established with the purpose of streamlining the consignment and home good retail space with a more sustainable digital platform set in a direct-to-consumer context that was new for the Jackson Hole marketplace.
Since opening its virtual doors to buyers and sellers, spanning from local seekers of smart finds to sellers and designers looking to circulate and keep their high-end goods in the Valley, Catch & Release has filled a consumer void with seamless access to quality consigned pieces for a fraction of retail price.
Known locally as a go-to resource for consigned home goods and decor, Catch & Release’s online platform simplifies the traditional brick and mortar retail model with a seamless, digital service it seeks to incorporate in the Jackson Hole estate sales space.
With a more traditional addition of estate sales to its core business model, Catch & Release will continue to appeal to its core consumer base of buyers looking for a deal on higher-quality sales and sellers seeking a simplified, full-service point of sale space.
“Our ‘vendors’ are people in the valley who spend money in our local economy, and we connect our wares to local people in the community who get a great deal on high-end pieces,” says Danahy.
“We aim to parlay that same approach to the Estate Sales space here in Jackson; something that feels sorely lacking, especially knowing how much good inventory there is in this Valley.”
Danahy’s hope is that this latest endeavor will bring visitors and estate sale-goers here to Jackson Hole for a more dedicated home ‘shopping’ all-in-one event which Catch & Release’s current platform has not previously allowed.
