Old Bill's awards party at NMWA.

JACKSON HOLE, WYO – The Community Foundation of Jackson Hole last night announced that Old Bill’s 2018 raised $13,316,364. The annual awards night at the National Museum of Wildlife Art again revealed some astounding and record numbers when it comes to philanthropy in Jackson Hole.

The Match Pool included a record 70 donors. It is created with gifts from Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill, Co-Challengers and Friends of the Match, totaled $3,583,188 and nonprofits raised $9,733,176 in gifts designated specifically for them. Over the last 22 years, Old Bill’s has raised an astonishing grand total of $159,339,346.

Gifts to organizations were matched this year at 52%, so nonprofits that raised $30,000 or more received $15,640 matching grants from the Community Foundation.

Foundation President Katharine Conover noted, “We are truly overcome with gratitude. Old Bill’s demonstrates the astounding generosity that is alive and well in Jackson. This year’s Match Pool is the largest ever, as is the amount nonprofits raised from the larger community. Nonprofits rely on these funds for operating support. The impact of Old Bill’s will be felt in Jackson Hole throughout the year ahead.”

Search and Rescue led all nonprofit recipients in number of donations with 593 unique contributions. Some 62% of nonprofits raised more in 2018 than they did last year through Old Bill’s.

Funds raised through Old Bill’s will soon be busy feeding the hungry, helping the sick and elderly, teaching kids to read, protecting wildlife and wild lands, preventing domestic violence, building affordable housing, keeping people safe in the back country, helping people with different abilities lead fulfilling lives, providing therapeutic activities for veterans, enriching our lives through the arts and touching the lives of everyone in Teton County.

The Foundation raises the entirety of the Match Pool, which provides Old Bill’s matching grants, covers administration for the event so nonprofits participate free, and supports the Foundation’s Competitive Grants Program. Old Bill’s would not be possible without the original inspiration of Mr. Old Bill. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Old Bill, the Co-Challengers and all of the donors and volunteers who make this event the amazing success that it is.
