JACKSON, Wyo. — The Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation Department has postponed the start of its Broomball League season, announced Parks & Rec today.
Citing lack of snowfall, Teton County Public Information Specialist Kristen Waters said they hope to start the season before the new year.
“Staff is unsure when the season will start, but they are hopeful that with recent snowfall, it will begin before the start of 2022,” said Waters. “Due to the delay, the league is extending registration through Monday, Dec. 20, 2021.”
Much like hockey, broomball is played on ice. Two opposing teams of six players each attempt to score goals on each other using a broomball stick and ball. Players are required to wear their own shoes, helmets and teams are required to provide sticks. Broomballs balls are provided by Parks & Rec.
