WILSON, Wyo. — “The smell of fresh-made coffee is one of the world’s greatest inventions.” — Hugh Jackman

Nora’s Fish Creek Inn features a new espresso bar, serving coffee-shop favorites available in the dining room at breakfast and lunch (7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily), as well as from the walk-up window located at the front of the iconic log cabin in Wilson.

“We wanted to offer commuters, carpoolers and those headed off to a great adventure a convenient and delicious way to get their morning beverages,” General Manager Delaney McGinnis said of the walk-up window. “We have online ordering to make pick-up even easier.”

In addition to the array of beverages, the pick-up window features grab-and-go breakfast selections that include a huevos rancheros breakfast burrito, a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich and warm gluten-free banana bread. The food options are available on a first-come, first-served basis starting around 8 a.m. and are not included in the online ordering.

The new offerings are also a hit with in-house diners who now have the opportunity to order a cappuccino, latte or chai latte, among others, to accompany the restaurant’s signature pancakes and huevos rancheros.

The cozy espresso bar, which features state-of-the-art La Marzocco and Mahlkoenig equipment, is staffed by a team of talented and experienced baristas who have a passion for their art.

“A barista has three opportunities to make each customer’s day better,” Barista Emma Harrison-Springett, who has honed her craft for three years, said. “First is handing them a thoughtfully prepared beverage. The second is by making it taste delicious and the third is by delivering it with kindness.”

Harrison-Springett believes that a properly created drink can be experiential and can foster a sense of community.

“Nora’s has been a gathering spot for decades and I get to watch how coffee brings people together every day,” she said.

While drip coffee and unlimited refills are still available, the brew featured in both the drip version and espresso offerings is now locally owned Overview Coffee, a company that supports and promotes regenerative organic agriculture and contributes to the reversal of climate change.

The quality of the ingredients was an important consideration in the espresso bar’s menu, explained McGinnis.

“Overview Coffee is not only delicious, but it is an environmentally and socially conscious enterprise,” McGinnis said. Likewise, the matcha served is an organic, ceremonial-grade matcha from Shizuoka, Japan.

Harrison-Springett shares this passion for using only the best ingredients in her coffee creations. The vanilla, hazelnut and brown butter caramel flavored syrups are all made in-house. She is already dreaming of other seasonal flavors for the upcoming holidays.
