WYOMING – NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) today announced the appointments of five new members to its board of trustees.
John Babcock, Jimmy Chin, José González, Annie Morita and George Phipps will join the board. All selections were made after a rigorous selection process, according to NOLS board chair Marc Randolph. New trustees were chosen for their professional achievements, leadership roles around the world and individual contributions to the school. All will serve three-year terms effective June 2019.
“Welcoming new trustees is such an exciting process for NOLS. This incoming class brings a range of perspectives, leadership and deep expertise in their respective fields,” Randolph said. “All of our board members are committed to the school’s mission and its work to empower our students to become leaders in the outdoors, their everyday lives and careers.”
The five new trustees join an established board of 14 current members comprised of leaders across diverse fields and industries who share a commitment to serving students and developing leadership through wilderness education. The board provides guidance for carrying out the school’s mission: To be the leading source and teacher of wilderness skills and leadership that serve people and the environment.
